Darren Gill

Darren Gill is a contemporary photographic artist currently based in Melbourne, Australia. Having studied at Photography Studies College in Melbourne, he has gone on to work locally and internationally. 

Working predominately in the spheres of theatre, performance and portraiture, his craft is sensitive to the emotional qualities of a work and the performer-audience relationship, both in which are powerfully translated in his visceral imagery. 

Through his personal art practice, he explores the intricacies of the human condition in response to environments. His works call for processes that abstract and disrupt traditional perception, play at the intersection of the corporeal and ethereal, and merge aspects of conceptual, documentary and performative photography.
